To further strengthen its U.S. scripted content, CJ ENM America has hired Courteney Tarantin as Vice President of Scripted Television. This was announced on Wednesday. Based in Los Angeles, Tarantin will report to Elsie Choi, who oversees CJ ENM’s English-language development initiatives. In her role, Tarantin will take a leadership position in creating and guiding original English series and adapting popular Korean intellectual properties from CJ ENM’s extensive library for worldwide audiences.
Anna Tarantin comes to us from Rideback, where she created and sold scripted series to streaming platforms like Amazon, Paramount+, Hulu, Showtime, CBS, The CW, ABC, and NBC. Some of her notable works include her contributions to the CW’s 2021 hit show “Walker,” which ran for four seasons, and its prequel “Walker: Independence.” Both shows were produced under Rideback’s first-look deal with CBS TV Studios. Prior to this, she had stints at CAA and Sony Pictures Television where she worked on Hulu’s “Shut Eye” and Amazon’s “Good Girls Revolt” and “The Last Tycoon.”
