As a long-time fan of Clipse, this news about their signing with Def Jam for their upcoming album “Let God Sort ‘Em Out” has me absolutely thrilled! Their journey through various record labels over the years is a testament to their resilience and talent. With Pusha T already on board with Def Jam and Pharrell producing the project, this collaboration promises to be nothing short of phenomenal.
Clipse has officially signed with Def Jam for their upcoming album, Let God Sort Em Out.
The announcement was made by Malice on Instagram, where he shared a picture taken in Def Jam’s office, standing next to a sign saying “Def Jam welcomes Clipse.” Although Pusha T, the rapper’s brother, is currently signed with Def Jam as a solo artist, this is the first time Clipse has collaborated with Def Jam; they had previously worked for labels such as Star Trak, Arista, Jive, Re-up, Columbia and Elektra.
As a dedicated gamer, I’m hyped to share that “Let God Sort Em Out” will be my crew’s initial studio production in a full 15 years! Our last one was back in 2009 with the hit album “Til the Casket Drops.” In an exciting interview, we revealed that Pharrell will be crafting every single track for this project. On top of that, musical heavyweights like Nas, John Legend, and Stove Good Cooks will be gracing our tracks as featured guests. Can’t wait to drop it!
In simpler terms, Push said that the album demonstrates a remarkable growth in the skills of the rap duo. He believes this work distinguishes the genuine from the ordinary. He described it as carefully selected music, indicating its refined nature. Such a level of refinement can only be achieved when the basics are mastered perfectly. He also mentioned the competitive aspect. Malice added that if you’re truly committed to your craft, your experience, and storytelling, this is what authentic rap should look like. It allows fans to witness their growth instead of trying to fit in or fabricate. He further stated that other music genres have the freedom to evolve, but we seem reluctant. This album showcases the true evolution of the Clipse, and it’s gratifying to be able to express this growth while still maintaining high-quality raps.
Stay tuned for an official release date.
