There were whispers that Marvel Rivals might be developing a fresh game mode, and now NetEase Games has confirmed it – possibly setting the stage for an intense and chaotic battle!
As an enthusiast, I’m super excited about diving into Clone Rumble! In this game, I’ll be leading a squad of just one character, requiring me to think strategically and outsmart my opponents who are also commanding clone teams. The battles promise to be intense and thrilling!
Send in the Clones
Instead of games like Overwatch limiting players to a single character per player for equilibrium, NetEase is discarding this rule to let players experience the wildness and disorder that arises when multiple characters played by a single player can be on the field. Take a look at the official unveiling for Clone Rumble!
According to the trailer, players can anticipate intense gameplay when teams consist of a single character. For instance, if all characters are Namors, they’d flood the map with octopus turrets, while a team made up entirely of Groots might resemble Fortnite’s strategy by constructing an unending labyrinth of walls.
Ponder for a moment the challenge of facing an invisible female team that avoids direct confrontation, or experiencing a game reminiscent of “Across the Spider-Verse”, where numerous Spider-People are hot on your tail instead.
Essentially, it appears that they intended it to be light-hearted and perhaps understood from the outset that any attempt at serious balance might have been futile given its whimsical foundation.
It’s about Time
Many fans of Marvel Rivals are eager to experience fresh gameplay options since the current selection is somewhat limited. Apart from the standard match types such as Domination, Convoy, and Convergence, other modes that can be played include Deathmatch, Doom Match, and variations of Conquest.
If Rivals examines Overwatch’s rich variety of game modes, it might be beneficial for them to introduce their takes on Capture-the-Flag or Mystery Heroes. The developers could also consider developing some restricted game modes similar to the way they created their own version of Lucio Ball, titled “Clash of Dancing Lions”.
New Black Widow Skin

As a gamer, I’m thrilled about the introduction of the new game mode! But here’s what really caught my attention – we can earn a free skin for Black Widow, affectionately named “Mrs. Barnes.” This skin gives Natasha Romanoff an Old West vibe that makes her look like she stepped straight out of the world of Red Dead Redemption. It’s pretty cool to see how they’ve managed to blend the two characters so seamlessly!
As a gamer, I need to join the “Galacta’s Cosmic Adventure” event happening from March 7th to April 11th to earn the “Mrs. Barnes” skin for Widow.
In this attire, it’s not clear why she’s referred to as Mrs. Barnes, but it seems linked to Winter Soldier since they both are elite assassins. So far, there’s no Old West-themed skin for Bucky in the game, which suggests that developers might be planning a “Mr. Barnes” skin to make Widow and Bucky’s costumes match within the game.
On March 7th, the game “Clone Rumble” will be released for the platform “Marvel Rivals.” Now, you can play it on your PC, Xbox Series X/S, or PlayStation 5.
