CoD fans think Black Ops 6 'Among Us' Field Upgrade is sus

As a seasoned Call of Duty veteran with over two decades of gaming under my belt, I must say that while I appreciate the devs’ efforts to keep the game fresh and exciting, the constant accusations of ripping off popular games can be tiresome. However, when it comes to Black Ops 6, I have to admit, they’ve outdone themselves this time.

Critics argue that imitation is the purest form of compliment, and after two decades of Call of Duty releases, some people have suggested that the developers are running low on original ideas. Rather than Warzone capitalizing on the battle royale genre pioneered by PUBG, Black Ops 6 has recently been accused of copying the popular game Among Us. It’s causing quite a stir in the gaming community.

In their upcoming release, Treyarch is unleashing an arsenal of exciting features. With Black Ops 6 generating high expectations as the largest Call of Duty game ever made, they’re showering us with a torrent of innovative ideas. Notable returning elements include Theater Mode and Zombies, while fresh inclusions such as a Nuketown-style Warzone and human shields add to the mix.

Black Ops 6 players hate Among Us-inspired Sleeper Agent Field Upgrade

At Call of Duty: NEXT, things have kicked off early for a select group of players, who are among the first to engage in combat before the game’s initial beta weekend. One of the most surprising unveilings is the Sleeper Agent Field Upgrade, which enables you to infiltrate enemy lines stealthily and eliminate opponents while masquerading as one of their own agents.

The latest Call of Duty: NEXT blog update reveals that the beta version will feature five Field Upgrades, including fan favorites such as the Trophy System and innovative blends like the Assault Pack from previous installments. The stealthy Sleeper Agent, a highlight from Black Ops, is stirring up excitement among players.

As a sneaky gamer, I can now blend in with the opposing team by assuming a friendly guise temporarily. Each kill I manage extends my disguise time, but shooting or getting too close to the enemy will expose my true self! Plus, there’s a blue name tag for an added layer of deception.

It’s quite annoying, as you might guess, to find a wolf disguised as a sheep within your team, isn’t it? Now, after observing Sleeper Agent in play, it has quickly become one of the most despised features in Black Ops 6. While UAVs and other surveillance tools may detect you as a spy, Sleeper Agent makes Roze skins seem like a valuable addition to the Call of Duty world instead.

When @MikeRxqe mentioned that the combination of Sleeper Agent and Body Shield will make Black Ops 6 intense, someone replied, “I can already tell I’m going to be utterly overwhelmed when a 12-year-old tackles me and starts shouting ‘skibidi toilet’ lyrics into my ear.”

Another player suggested, “Either reduce its power or eliminate it altogether. It’s problematic to have a perk that allows someone to disguise as another teammate, especially when everyone is dressed up like attendees at a Comic-Con convention in the game. However, since Vigilance Perk acts as a counter for Sleeper Agent, it might not be as overpowered as it seems.”

Despite different opinions, one person stated, “The Sleeper Agent shouldn’t be a part of every gameplay option,”, while another added, “It’s still a questionable decision. Why continue to include elements in games annually that players rarely request?” The issue seems to lie in the fact that you express a desire for something new, yet criticize it when it doesn’t align with your specific expectations.
