On Sunday evening, Colin Farrell was awarded the Golden Globe for Best Actor in a Limited Series or Television Film for his performance in “The Penguin”.
Following their presentation of the award, Farrell humorously mentioned that he had no one to thank as he had accomplished it singlehandedly: “I did it all by myself,” he said with a chuckle. “My performance was unadorned and stripped down.”
Farrell jokingly expressed his gratitude to no one after receiving the award from Miles Teller and Anya Taylor-Joy, stating that he had achieved it alone: “I did it all by myself,” he quipped. “My act was bare and minimalistic.
Farrell went on to acknowledge all those who contributed to the creation of the series: “There are far too many individuals to express gratitude towards. As they say, it takes a village – be it for a small or large screen production. I stand on the shoulders of countless talented people over the years, and perhaps never more so than this time, thanks to Mike Marino, our makeup designer, and his exceptional team.
He explains, “It only required three hours seated in the morning, after which I sipped black coffee, enjoyed ’80s tunes, and effectively transformed into a blank slate for that team’s genius.
In wrapping up his acceptance speech, Farrell expressed gratitude towards his castmates, executive producer Matt Reeves (also director of this year’s The Batman), showrunner Lauren LeFranc, fellow Golden Globe nominees, and the craft service team on our filming set.

In a simpler and more conversational way, we could say:
Farrell bagged the Globe Award for his portrayal of Oswald “Oz” Cobb in “The Penguin,” where he continued his role from 2022’s “The Batman.” The show unfolds after the movie’s storyline, as the Penguin attempts to gain control over Gotham’s criminal underworld, following Robert Pattinson’s lead.
Additionally, Richard Gadd from “Baby Reindeer,” Kevin Kline in “Disclaimer,” Cooper Koch of “Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story,” Ewan McGregor in “A Gentleman in Moscow,” and Andrew Scott starring in “Ripley” were also nominated in the same category.
This past Sunday evening saw the hosting of the 82nd Golden Globe Awards by comedian Nikki Glaser, which took place at the Beverly Hilton Hotel. To view the complete roster of winners and all the fashionable red carpet appearances, click here.
As a gamer, I’m part of the community that’s connected to the Golden Globes, an event produced by none other than Dick Clark Productions. Fun fact: This production company is actually owned by Penske Media Eldridge, a strategic partnership between Penske Media Corporation and Eldridge. They also happen to own The Hollywood Reporter, making them quite influential in our world of entertainment news!
