Being a dedicated theme park enthusiast, whose work is showcased here at TopMob, I’m constantly seeking others who share my enthusiasm. Most of my social media exchanges revolve around this shared passion. It’s delightful to connect with someone new, even online, who appreciates what I appreciate, and I believe I may have found another kindred spirit in Colin Jost, a star from Saturday Night Live and the host of Pop Culture Jeopardy.
There are several well-known adults who often visit Disney theme parks, and here are a few examples: Rebel Wilson is part of Club 33, although she had a brief ban; Neil Patrick Harris performs the Candlelight Processional at Epcot nearly every year. While Michael Che may not have as much recognition in the parks, I still consider him one of us.
Colin Jost Has Been Making A Lot Of Disney World Jokes Recently
Fans of Disney Parks often pay close attention when one of the parks is mentioned, and comedian Colin Jost has been doing so quite frequently lately. During recent episodes of “Weekend Update,” Disney World has been a recurring topic, such as when he jested about the cost of the Premier Pass Lightning Lane. This suggests that at least one person in the Saturday Night Live writing team is a theme park enthusiast, but it appears that the jokes are actually coming directly from Jost himself.
Last night on “Pop Culture Jeopardy,” they brought up Tiana from “The Princess and the Frog” and mentioned the latest attraction, Tiana’s Bayou Adventure. This prompted a spontaneous joke about Splash Mountain from Michael Che, all thanks to Diservations!
It’s clear that even when Jost makes a joke about preserving Splash Mountain, he can’t help but grin. This suggests he’s taking a playful dig at those passionately advocating for the original attraction. However, his comment also indicates that Jost is quite knowledgeable about Disney Parks trivia.
Jost Probably Wouldn’t Call Himself A Disney Adult, But I Think He Counts
Through some research, I found out that Colin Jost has spent quite a bit of his time at Walt Disney World. In an episode of Seth Meyers’ Family Trips with the Myers Brothers podcast, Jost mentioned that Disney World was an annual family vacation for him until he became a young adult. He even opted to miss a college trip to the Playboy Mansion to visit Disney World instead. Now, he frequently returns there with his wife Scarlett Johansson and their children.
It seems unlikely that Colin Jost identifies as a “Disney Adult” or considers himself a dedicated theme park enthusiast, but his frequent visits to Disney World suggest a deep affection for it. He appears eager to return, much like many others in the same boat, which indicates his fondness for the place. If you were to inquire about the removal of Rivers of America from Magic Kingdom, I suspect he’d have a strong opinion on the matter.
