Comedy Central’s ‘Everybody Still Hates Chris’ Reveals First Look, Premiere Date (Exclusive)

As a seasoned gamer with a soft spot for nostalgia, I must admit that hearing about the revival of “Everybody Still Hates Chris” has sent a wave of excitement coursing through my veins! Growing up, I vividly remember the original live-action series and its hilarious portrayal of Chris Rock’s life in Brooklyn. Now, with an animated spin on it, I can’t help but feel like I’ve hit the jackpot!

The continuing — and now animated — story of Chris Rock’s life will return to TV in September.

As a passionate gamer, I’m thrilled to share that Comedy Central has announced a September 25th premiere for the animated series called “Everybody Still Hates Chris”. This new show is inspired by the classic sitcom “Everybody Hates Chris” from UPN/CW. The cable network has even given us a sneak peek at the animated Rock family, which you can see right up there at the top! Can’t wait to dive into this animated adventure!

Similar to the live-action comedy that aired from 2005-09, titled Everybody Still Hates Chris, the show will have Rock sharing anecdotes from his childhood in Brooklyn. Tichina Arnold and Terry Crews will be reprising their roles as Rochelle and Julius, Chris’ parents. Tim Johnson Jr. takes on the role of young Chris, while Terrence Little Gardenhigh and Ozioma Akagha lend their voices to his siblings, Drew and Tonya. Gunnar Sizemore portrays Greg, Chris’ only friend at school.

Eye Animation Productions, a division of CBS Studios, collaborates with Chris Rock Enterprises and 3 Arts Entertainment on the production of this series. Development on the show started in 2021, and Comedy Central officially ordered it to be produced in 2022.

I’m thrilled to announce that “Everybody Still Hates Chris,” the beloved series I adore, is set to join the lineup of animated shows on Comedy Central, alongside timeless classics like “South Park” and “Digman!” This exciting news comes with a confirmation that “South Park” has been renewed for a second season. The team behind this project includes Rock as an executive producer, along with showrunner Sanjay Shah from Apple’s “Central Park”; Ali LeRoi, co-creator of the original series; Michael Rotenberg and Dave Becky from 3 Arts Entertainment; and animation powerhouses Chris Prynoski, Shannon Prynoski, Antonio Canobbio, and Ben Kalina from Titmouse. I can hardly wait to see these talented minds bring “Everybody Still Hates Chris” back to life!
