As a fashion enthusiast with a penchant for unique and edgy designs, this collaboration between COMME des GARÇONS and Burberry has me absolutely thrilled! Being someone who appreciates the fusion of heritage and modernity in fashion, I’ve always admired how Rei Kawakubo reimagines classic silhouettes with a punk twist.
COMME des GARÇONS is collaborating with the esteemed British fashion brand, Burberry, to reinvent one of their classic shapes, using a unique approach.
Once again, I find myself captivated by the unique collaboration between Rei Kawakubo’s brand and Burberry. Last year, we saw two coats emerge, adorned with distinctive tartan and fur patterns from COMME des GARÇONS. This time around, they’ve taken on a modern twist to the timeless Long Kensington Heritage Trench Coat. The design retains the original coat’s integrity, but introduces a striking detail – a pyramid of studs on the shoulder lapel and upper arms. It’s a subtle nod to the punk era, with each stud meticulously hand-placed. This contemporary update maintains the iconic status of the trench coat while adding an edgy, rebellious touch. The coat is available in its traditional tan color.
As a devoted admirer, I’d like to share that the exclusive “Collaborative Coat” can be found exclusively at the COMME des GARÇONS Aoyama Store nestled in Tokyo. This one-of-a-kind piece is available in sizes ranging from 44 to 52.
