Six years have passed since Remedy Entertainment’s acclaimed supernatural action game Control was initially released. Recently, an update has been rolled out for its PC version, bringing back the mission that was originally exclusive to PlayStation 4 and granting access to suits for the character Jesse, which were previously only available as pre-order bonuses on PlayStation 4.
I’m super pumped! The long-awaited March 2025 Update (1.30) is now live, and it’s exclusively for PC gamers out there. You can grab it on Steam, Epic Games Store, or GOG right now. Sadly, console warriors on PlayStation 5 and Xbox One will have to wait a bit longer, but fear not, the update is on its way!
In this latest update, you’ll find the mission created by Hideo Kojima once again, a mission that was exclusive to the PlayStation 4 version beforehand. In this iteration, Kojima makes an appearance as Dr. Yoshimi Tokui, a scientist working within the Federal Bureau of Control. This mission leads players through a Guided Imagery Experience, with Kojima lending his voice to Dr. Tokui. To experience this mission, simply collect Dr. Tokui’s tapes from the Extrasensory Lab.

Players with the Ultimate Edition of the game on PC will now have access to three additional suits for Jesse Faden that were previously exclusive to PlayStation 4 pre-orders: the Astral Dive Suit, Tactical Response Gear, and Urban Response Gear. These outfits can be unlocked instantly and are available at the control point in the Central Executive Sector Area for immediate acquisition.

Furthermore, Control Ultimate Edition undergoes a substantial visual enhancement tailored to harness the capabilities of contemporary hardware. The 1.30 update introduces Ultra Ray Tracing and High Dynamic Range (HDR) compatibility, as well as additional graphical features such as ultrawide support for 48:9 monitors, Deep Learning Super Sampling (DLSS) and Deep Learning Anti-Aliasing (DLAA), Field of View (FOV) adjustment, and other enhancements. Players can find the complete list of changes on Control’s official blog.
Remedy Entertainment consistently stands behind its cherished intellectual properties, particularly after Alan Wake 2 recouped its costs following a significant surge in popularity. Currently, the studio is pouring its efforts into upcoming ventures such as remaking Max Payne, working on Control 2, and developing FBC: Firebreak – a multiplayer first-person shooter game.
