Converse Can Do Sneaker Loafers Too

The most popular trend in footwear is sweeping through all brands: the sneaker loafer. The New Balance 1906L, a controversial yet widely discussed model, signaled the start of fashion’s fascination with corporate aesthetics. Since then, numerous labels have jumped on the bandwagon. HOKA introduced its speed loafer hybrid, while Puma released the Sophyr Loafer. Even UGG joined in by reintroducing their SS25 menswear line featuring a Vibram sole loafer design. Now, Converse is getting involved with their new offering, the All-Star Coupe GB Loafer.

Initially, the Coupe GB Loafer appears to be a formal shoe rather than athletic footwear. However, upon a closer look, remnants of the iconic style of the Chuck Taylor All Star sneaker can be seen. The loafer is crafted from sleek leather panels and comes in both black and off-white colors. Its upper includes a midfoot strap with fringes and stars embossed at the ends, as well as an embossed logo on the inner heel. Although less noticeable than other sneaker loafer designs, the Coupe GB retains the traditional and flexible sole of Converse shoes.

The Converse All-Star Coupe GB Loafer hasn’t gone on sale just yet, but it seems like its initial launch will happen online in Japan. Given the rising popularity of the latest athleisure redesigns, we anticipate a US release shortly as well. Keep an eye on this space for any upcoming news.
