Cordae States Bad Business and an Argument Caused Disbandment of YBN

More recently, rapper Cordae shared insights on the dissolution of the YBN crew with YouTube host Peaks100. He explained that disagreements and poor business decisions were the primary reasons behind his separation from Nahmir and Almighty Jay.

He mentioned one collective that remained intact, yet they never produced a track featuring the trio, he explained. He added, “The business aspect was really complicated, to be honest.” Cordae went on to say, “There were intense disagreements that occurred in Europe. Things are said that can’t be unsaid. It’s still love, but it’s just some issues that you can’t overlook.

Regarding the split of YBN, Cordae clarified that their trio remains amicable, expressing, “Nahmir is still my friend. I still vibe with Jay. I’m thankful for the slams Nahmir has thrown, so to speak.

In 2021, I, Almighty Jay, called out my former manager, James McMillan, for unethical business practices. I openly expressed on Instagram that McMillan had us sign subpar contracts, registered the YBN name without our knowledge, took advantage of us while we were still young, and even assigned me a lawyer who he had previously been involved with, failing to disclose this fact. “If you’re curious about why YBN disbanded,” I penned down. Both Nahmir and Cordae liked the post, seemingly endorsing my allegations.
