I aimed to make the sentence more conversational, while maintaining the original meaning and structure.
I find myself disliking the fact that I’ve developed this theory regarding the year 1923 and its possible conclusion. Yet, since it has surfaced, I just can’t help but dwell on it, thus sharing it with you. I am strongly convinced that by the end of the second season, which is scheduled for 2025, both characters portrayed by Harrison Ford (Jacob) and Helen Mirren (Cara) might meet their demise.
Let me assure you, it may seem implausible, extraordinary, even nightmarish. But upon reflection, given the events that began in 1923, it sadly becomes clearer why things unfolded as they did.
I Think Jacob And Cara Will Die Before Spencer Gets To Montana
According to my idea, it seems likely that Jacob and Cara Dutton may pass away before Spencer can return home.
Actor Brandon Sklenar from the series “1923” hinted that the Season 2 finale will be deeply moving, suggesting he needed tissues to prepare for it. This implies a lot of emotional events are coming up. I suspect his reunion with Alex might be one of them, and also possibly with Jack, Cara, and Jacob.
Meanwhile, I found myself pondering about the fate of Spencer’s parents, particularly his mother Margaret, prior to Jacob and Cara arriving in Montana. This reflection led me to understand that while Spencer himself may return to the ranch, the individuals who nurtured him, his parents, could already be absent.
Margaret Dutton Died Before Cara And Jacob Could Get To The Ranch
This winter of ’23 is truly biting, and its harshness serves as a stark reminder. In fact, it’s almost as if the cold is whispering its deadly tale in our ears. The opening episode of Season 2 even echoed Elsa Dutton’s voiceover, underscoring the lethal ferocity of the season’s chill. She cautioned: “Winter can be cruel and relentless.
The harsh winter months are a time for survival of the fittest, as stronger predators hunt the weaker and less intelligent animals.
Despite her immense strength, Elsa, Spencer, and their mother Margaret couldn’t endure the harsh winter. Tragically, Margaret succumbed to the cold, having made a plea for assistance from Jacob and Cara before they reached the West.
As a concerned fan, it’s undeniable that both Cara and Jacob, like all the characters in the show, are advancing in age, which means they confront their mortality daily. Therefore, I find myself apprehensive about the possibility of a harsh winter challenge, much like Faith Hill’s character in 1883, causing harm to Harrison Ford and Helen Mirren’s characters.
…and ponder on what a deeply sorrowful moment it might be for Spencer, should he come home to discover those who nurtured him lying peacefully passed away.
It Would Be Tragic In A Profound Way If Spencer Made It Home And His Aunt And Uncle Were Gone
Frankly speaking, I’d much rather not see this unfold. I’m deeply invested in the story of Jacob, Cara, and Spencer. My heart aches for their reunion more than anything else in this cinematic universe.
Indeed, my thoughts have been frequently drawn to the missive penned by Mirren’s character in Season 1, in which she expressed concerns about the safety of the ranch and its enduring importance to her nephew.

Following the revelation that Alex was pregnant in 1923, I inquired from Julia Schlaepfer about the theories concerning her character and the Dutton family lineage.
It fell upon Spencer to inform him that his elder brother had tragically passed away, and Jacob’s health was critically poor, teetering on the edge of life itself. Spencer, essentially the last hope for the survival of the ranch, is one of the few remaining offspring of James and Margaret. The land represents their legacy, and I firmly believe he’ll return to it.
Yet, I’m worried they may disappear, leaving only Jacob and Cara behind. His mother, Margaret, winter, an unforeseen foe, or even some wild creature could have taken them. Similarly, his aunt and uncle might vanish, leaving Spencer with a barely livable ranch that he must restore.
Ending Season 2 of 1923 in a way that’s incredibly poignant, bittersweet, and symbolic could be quite impactful. It might evoke deep emotions, leave viewers stunned, and potentially bring tears to their eyes.
