Could the OG Cast Return To Suits: LA? Here’s What Patrick J. Adams Says

As a die-hard Suits enthusiast with countless hours invested in the series, I can confidently say that the news of a spin-off titled Suits: LA had me jumping for joy! The original cast, particularly the dynamic duo of Mike Ross and Harvey Specter, holds a special place in my heart.

In 2023, the TV series “Suits” experienced a significant resurgence on streaming platforms. Given my affection for this show, it wasn’t unexpected that it found new life on Netflix, ultimately leading to the approval of the anticipated spin-off, now known as “Suits: LA”. The question now is whether any of the original cast will make an appearance in the sunny California reboot. However, Patrick J. Adams has shared his thoughts on this matter.

I’m thrilled about the surge of new fans for Suits recently, as it’s opened up some fascinating discussions. With the show’s streaming success, the original cast members Patrick J. Adams (Mike Ross) and Sarah Rafferty (Donna Paulsen) have started a podcast named “Sidebar: A Suits Watch Podcast“. Adding to the excitement, TV Insider has graciously shared their interview with the creative mind behind the series, seeking his insights on the upcoming Suits: LA spinoff.

I’ve been a strong advocate for that series, and I’ve often expressed my eagerness and excitement to rejoin the storyline, don the character again, if the situation seems appropriate.

I am absolutely thrilled with the response, and I must admit, the sudden departure of the “Plan B” actor from the legal drama left me puzzled. Perhaps reminiscing the old times while watching the series with his previous castmate might sway my decision.

It’s quite delightful to notice that my favorite show’s cast members share the same passion for their past roles as I do. This podcast serves as evidence of Adams and Rafferty’s enduring affection and curiosity towards the Suits universe, making it believable when Lockerbie actor expresses his willingness to reprise his role as Mike.

In Aaron Korsh’s reign for the new phase of Suits, I have a feeling he would warmly embrace the return of these cherished characters. Moreover, it appears Adams is considering this possibility, so I am eager to hear about his plans for incorporating the original cast.

The real question is, what’s Mike without his partner in crime (literally)? While Gabriel Macht has not outright confirmed he would be interested in returning as the suave yet slightly egotistical Harvey Specter (we love Harvey and his character growth though), a recent team-up with the kid for a T-mobile commercial suggests he might be up for it. Seeing the iconic dynamic duo engaging in shenanigans again was enough for me to hope for at least a cameo in Suits: LA, and I can only hope the Because I Said So actor feels the same way.

In terms of Mike’s romantic partner, it’s unlikely that Meghan Markle, who is now a Duchess, will reprise her role as the intelligent and attractive Rachel Zane on the show, since she has moved on to royal duties.

Despite the Duchess’s ambiguity about the issue and her recent inclination towards acting again, there’s always a possibility for it. After all, who wouldn’t want a brief appearance from her, knowing how excited fans would be? I believe Meghan would be thrilled to rejoin the cast of Suits, especially since they were all invited to her wedding in 2018.

In the Suits universe, Jessica Pearson’s departure from New York wasn’t the first spin-off. Around Season 8, Gina Torres’ character, Jessica Pearson, moved beyond just having her name on the wall in the office and ventured into having her own show – “Pearson.” Although it ran for only one season, it demonstrated that the tales of powerful lawyers are never fully told. It seems Patrick J. Adams shares this perspective, suggesting he might be open to more than a brief appearance in Suits: LA if it comes to pass.

I’d surely enjoy seeing more content within the Suits world. It’s amazing how fortunate they are to film in Los Angeles.

It seems quite possible that, if everything proceeds smoothly, a new series in the Suits universe could be coming soon. Perhaps Mike Ross has finally attended law school and will reunite the team as Ross-Paulsen-Pearson-Specter-Litt at their firm.

As I eagerly anticipate the upcoming spin-off of this series, due out within the next couple of years, I firmly believe that no one could replicate the unique chemistry the original cast shared. It’s not just about good looks and similar scripts; it’s about capturing that special spark. Although I know the original cast members have numerous other projects in the pipeline, I sincerely hope they consider prioritizing this Suits spin-off to truly bring it to life as we remember it.

Until then, I think it’s time I use my Netflix subscription to rewatch alongside Mike and Donna.
