- Interactive Brokers, like, totally expanded its crypto horizons 🤩, letting people play with XRP, ADA, and a couple of others.
- Price surge? Nope. More like a price *shrug*. Everything’s a bit down. Typical. 🙄
Diving Deeper (or, trying to stay awake…)
So, Interactive Brokers, right? The place with all the serious investors (and probably some very boring spreadsheets). They’ve added four *whole* cryptocurrencies. XRP, ADA, Solana (SOL), and Dogecoin (DOGE). As if we needed *more* ways to lose money. 💸
“Adding these new tokens gives our clients even more flexibility to diversify their portfolios and take advantage of opportunities across digital assets,” said Steve Sanders, EVP of Marketing and Product Development at Interactive Brokers. (Translation: “We hope you gamble responsibly… but we’re taking a cut either way! 😉”)
Apparently, this is all part of their grand plan to give us “a comprehensive and efficient trading experience.” Which I assume means they’ll make it *slightly* less confusing to lose all our money in one place. 🤷♀️
They already had Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), Litecoin (LTC), and Bitcoin Cash (BCH). So, you know, options. Like choosing which flavor of despair you prefer.
Price Reaction? (aka, the bit where reality bites)
Did the crypto world erupt in joyful, price-boosting celebration? Did XRP and ADA suddenly become Lambo-buying machines? Of course not. They all went DOWN. Because that’s just how it works, isn’t it? 😩
XRP is currently wallowing around $2.37, down 4% daily. It had a brief moment of glory last week when Ripple‘s CEO declared victory over the SEC (sort of). 🎉
Apparently, they’re going to pay a “small” fine of $50 million. Which, for us mere mortals, is approximately the cost of a small island. 🏝️
So, XRP fans will have to wait for, like, a miracle. Maybe an XRP ETF? According to Polymarket (whoever *they* are), there’s an 85% chance it will happen before 2026. Plenty of time to panic-sell before then! 😨
ADA, SOL, and DOGE are also having a bit of a sulk. Although, at least they’re still slightly green for the week. Small mercies, eh?
