As a lifestyle expert with a keen eye for recognizing authenticity, I must say Ananya Panday’s choice to draw inspiration from her cousin Alanna Panday and her husband Ivor for her character in CTRL is a stroke of genius. It’s not every day we see an artist tapping into real-life experiences to breathe life into their on-screen persona, making it relatable and engaging for the audience.
At present, Ananya Panday is delighting in the favorable reactions towards her latest movie, CTRL. Directed by Vikramaditya Motwane, this screenlife thriller portrays a social media influencer who finds herself ensnared by an app designed to govern her life. In discussing the film and her character, the budding actress openly acknowledged that she took inspiration from her cousin Alanna Panday and the life of her cousin’s husband, Ivor, for the creation of her character.
As a lifestyle aficionado, I’ve always found myself drawn to the vibrant world of influencers. Recently, I had the pleasure of chatting with my cousin, Alanna Panday, and her husband, Ivor, who are renowned for their vlogging about their daily lives. Their authentic and engaging content seemed like the ideal source of inspiration for me as I prepared to bring my character, Nella Awasthi in CTRL, to life. In fact, among all the influencers I encounter, Alanna and her husband truly stand out as couple bloggers who offer a unique and captivating perspective.
According to the Gehraiyaan actress, their vlogs encompass various aspects of their lives – from when they first met, through their wedding, pregnancy, and raising their baby. She mentioned that these videos are available on their YouTube channel and serve as a personal connection, helping her comprehend the compromises needed to be a public figure, particularly when one’s life is more exposed than an actor’s. Additionally, Panday shared that comedian Sumukhi Suresh was involved in the scriptwriting process, and she has extensive knowledge about influencers.
Yesterday, I shared several behind-the-scenes snapshots from our Netflix film set, and I’m overwhelmed by the love and admiration pouring in. I wrote, “Feeling incredibly grateful for all the affection and praise Nella and CTRL are receiving. Seeing everyone’s reactions makes me beam from ear to ear. @motwayne, you know exactly how I feel… I adore you way too much, and I can never express enough gratitude – this is a treasured memory and one of my most valuable lessons. And none of this would be possible without the incredible cast and crew, so go check out CTRL on Netflix_in if you haven’t already.
Take a look:
In addition to the main character, CTRL features Vihaan Samat playing a crucial part. Simultaneously, Alanna can be seen in the reality TV show, The Tribe, which falls under Karan Johar’s banner, Dharmatic Entertainment. Alongside Alanna, the series includes Alaviaa Jaaferi, Srushti Porey, Aryaana Gandhi, Alfia Jafry, and Hardik Zaveri in its cast.
