As a lifelong aficionado of art and design, I find myself utterly captivated by Cut Once Studio‘s Artist Edition series. Being a child of the ’80s, I remember the joy Sesame Street brought us, so Gondek’s glowing Oscar the Grouch mirror instantly resonates with me – it’s like a blast from the past, but with a twist!
Cut Once Studio introduced its first Artist Edition series by partnering with Jahlil Nzinga, Louis De Guzman, Matt Gondek, and Victor Solomon for a new line of exclusive mirrors. In line with the creative ethos of founder Joshua Vides, this series showcases the passion for artistry and skill through international collaborations with talented artists.
Every item in this collection is uniquely animated with a personalized finish and technique, as each of the four artists adds their distinctive touch to illuminated works. Solomon emphasizes sports artistry through his iconic basketball designs, while Gondek’s glow-in-the-dark Oscar the Grouch evokes nostalgia and fun. De Guzman’s etched pegasus shines with an otherworldly amethyst gleam, and Nzinga’s striking one-liner figures gracefully decorate the surrounding glass and frames.
In the crossroads of artistic expression and thoughtful design, this assembly captivates viewers with its allure, simultaneously mirroring fresh perspectives and redefining ordinary items as intriguing sculptures.
50 unique mirrors are being produced as a special edition, and they will go on sale on the Cut Once Studio’s website from November 22, 2024.
