This accomplished Tony and Grammy Award-winner will team up with David Oyelowo for a keynote discussion at the GEANCO Foundation’s glamorous Hollywood event.
1 Hotel West Hollywood will play host to a gala on Dec. 6, which Oyelowo will host and co-chair with Folake Olowofoyeku. The event aims to gather funds for initiatives aimed at supporting women and children in need across Nigeria. Guests can look forward to an evening filled with Nigerian music, hors d’oeuvres inspired by Africa, a fully stocked bar featuring Nigeria’s Star Beer, and updates on the progress of GEANCO’s projects. Sponsors for this event include Safar Global Foundation, U.S. Venture, Jason Levin and Gafni & Levin LLP, Paul Hastings LLP, Round Hill Search, Navigate, and Misfit.
Funds raised will additionally contribute to The David Oyelowo Leadership Scholarship for Girls, an initiative offering tuition, healthcare, leadership development, menstrual and psychological support to young Nigerian girls affected by terrorism and gender disparity. Since 2014, the actor has been involved with GEANCO. This year’s event may reveal a significant partnership deal for the scholarship from entrepreneurs Shay and Shab Safarzadeh through their recently established Safar Global Foundation.
