Rakesh Roshan introduced his son, Hrithik Roshan, to the world through the movie “Kaho Naa… Pyaar Hai” in 2000, alongside Ameesha Patel. Since then, this father-son pair has collaborated on numerous films, most notably the Krrish series that began with “Koi… Mil Gaya” in 2003. The series continued with “Krrish” and culminated with “Krrish 3.” Throughout these movies, Hrithik delivered exceptional performances, but some spectators felt that Rakesh Roshan kept casting his son in all the films. In a recent interview, actor Gajraj Rao supported Rakesh Roshan’s decision to choose Hrithik for the role of Krrish. Keep reading!
Discussing Hrithik Roshan’s performances on the big screen is always enjoyable. However, when Krrish 3 was released, some film enthusiasts argued that Rakesh Roshan should have selected Shahid Kapoor for the lead role instead, as watching Hrithik repeatedly felt redundant. Now, esteemed Bollywood actor Gajraj Rao has expressed his thoughts on this topic.
In a conversation with Filmygyan, the actor from Dabba Cartel expressed that filmmaking isn’t equivalent to social work and those involved don’t owe any moral responsibilities to others. He referenced renowned director Satyajit Ray as an example, explaining that he too made films featuring similar actors over time because they developed strong relationships during their years of working together.
In regards to Rakesh Roshan, people often commented that he cast his son for a role. Some even proposed Shahid Kapoor as the ideal candidate for Krrish. However, this isn’t how things transpire. As Badhaai Ho expressed candidly, “It’s his finances, reputation, and creativity that make Hrithik suitable for the part. I believe there’s a great deal of ignorance at play here. Nothing is repeated; this is the labor and vision of the director.
Gajraj Rao, the actor, is set to appear in an upcoming comedy series titled Dupahiya. This production, helmed by Sonam Nair, will debut on Amazon Prime Video on March 7, 2025. Alongside Rao, the series features prominent actors such as Renuka Shahane, Bhuvan Arora, Sparsh Shrivastava, Shivani Raghuvanshi, and Yashpal Sharma in significant roles.
