The movies “Avengers: Doomsday” (2026) and “Secret Wars” (2027) are on the horizon, with both anticipated to feature a host of heroes from the extensive Marvel Cinematic Universe. Now, Dafne Keen, who plays Deadpool and Wolverine’s co-star, has expressed interest in having her character Laura/X-23 join an Avengers team-up.

Initially, Keen portrayed Laura in James Mangold’s remarkable film titled “Logan,” which was designed as Hugh Jackman’s final performance as Wolverine and aimed to establish a new X-Men team, dubbed “Young X-Men.” However, Jackman and Keen reunited for the project “Deadpool & Wolverine,” implying that their characters might make a comeback in the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s future.

At the 2025 Saturn Awards, Dafne Keen shared her aspiration to portray Laura once more within the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and hinted at desired locations for the character. The actress expressed a preference for a “fun team-up” scenario, but also acknowledged a liking for Laura’s involvement in “smaller, more intimate stories.” Keen fondly recalled her experience playing Laura in Mangold’s 2017 hit, Logan, which she considered particularly gripping. She admitted, “Playing Laura in Logan was exciting because it was so gritty. I really enjoyed that.

“I’d also be very, very open to a big whole action fight team up with the Avengers.”

As a fan, I didn’t hear her directly discuss “Avengers: Doomsday” or “Secret Wars.” However, what caught my attention was her statement about wanting to be part of a major team-up film within the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s upcoming projects.

At Marvel Studios’ SDCC announcement in 2024, it was confirmed that Robert Downey Jr. will portray Doctor Doom in both movies. Benedict Cumberbatch has also hinted, then retracted his statement, suggesting that Doctor Strange will feature in both films as well. We eagerly anticipate seeing more familiar faces like Doctor Otto Octavius (Spider-Man’s nemesis), Dr. Bruce Banner (Hulk), and even Dr. Henry McCoy (Beast from X-Men) join the cast for “Doomsday”.

When asked about the potential MCU timeline reset after “Secret Wars,” she hinted at wanting to share the screen with Jackman again, saying, “Why can’t we both be there?” She added that if they were both present, she would be overjoyed.
