As a lifelong Daft Punk enthusiast, this latest news has me dancing with excitement! Growing up in the 90s and early 2000s, I was captivated by their unique sound and visual aesthetic. The fusion of electronic music with anime in Interstellar 5555 was a match made in cosmic heaven that left an indelible mark on my musical journey.
This week, as the 2003 anime masterpiece Interstellar 5555 by Daft Punk and Leiji Matsumoto returns to global theaters, GEEKS RULE reveals a special collection of Daft Punk merchandise in a limited edition.
Three items showcase unique artwork inspired by the movie, such as a “Harder Better Faster Stronger” design laid out vertically, an Interstellar 5555 poster with Japanese title text, and a prominent graphic highlighting the popular song “Something About Us.” To complement the film merchandise, there are two t-shirts showcasing graphics from past Daft Punk albums: one in a tan shade displaying the cover of Random Access Memories, and another black t-shirt featuring designs from DISCOVERY.
On December 12, fans will have a unique chance to watch the band’s 2003 movie, Daft Punk’s Interstellar 5555, in over 800 cinemas spanning more than 40 countries. Trafalgar Releasing CEO, Marc Allenby, expressed his enthusiasm by stating, “We’re thrilled to present the fully remastered 4K version of this iconic film for a one-night-only global event.
