As a devoted admirer, I’m thrilled to share that indie streaming sensation, Nebula, has revealed the launch of its inaugural original scripted series – the gripping dark anthology titled “Sub/Liminal“. The prestigious Oscar winner, Dan Jinks, will be taking on the role of executive producer for this captivating project.
Sub/Liminal is often compared to The Twilight Zone and Black Mirror, as it delves into complex power dynamics within human relationships, and the consequences when these interactions become unbalanced. The initial season will consist of six self-contained episodes, with narratives penned by Nebula content creators that are then brought to life by skilled directors and producers.
The production for the show will start towards the end of the year, emphasizing Nebula’s strategy as an independent streaming service to collaborate with prominent figures in Hollywood.
“Dan Jinks has an Oscar. I’m doing whatever he says,” Nebula CEO Dave Wiskus said in a statement.
In a similar vein, Jinks, known for producing the Academy Award-winning film “American Beauty” featuring Kevin Spacey and Annette Bening, expressed enthusiasm about teaming up with Nebula. This collaboration is attractive to him as Nebula aims to make its mark in the growing competitive landscape of streaming television.
As a devoted admirer, I can’t contain my excitement about collaborating with Dave Wiskus and the brilliant team of writers and directors he has gathered at Nebula for this thrilling new series. In a statement, he shared his enthusiasm, boasting an impressive filmography that includes the critically acclaimed “Milk,” starring Sean Penn; Tim Burton’s enchanting “Big Fish”; the hilarious “Nothing to Lose,” featuring Martin Lawrence; and the romantic comedy “Down With Love,” graced by Renée Zellweger and Ewan McGregor.
Last year, Nebula – a streaming platform run by content creators catering to specific audiences – established Nebula Motion Pictures, its studio division aimed at establishing a production line for digital storytellers to convert their narratives into movies and television shows.
