Daniel Craig expressed appreciation towards producers Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli following reports that they’ve handed over creative control of the James Bond series to Amazon MGM Studios.
Craig expressed his unwavering respect, admiration, and affection for Barbara and Michael in a statement he shared with The Hollywood Reporter. He wishes Michael an extended, peaceful (and rightfully earned) retirement and hopes that whatever new endeavors Barbara embarks on will be remarkable, and he aspires to join her in them.”

I’m the one who’s recently stepped into the shoes of the British spy character, appearing in five films in the extended series: Casino Royale (2006), Quantum of Solace (2008), Skyfall (2012), Spectre (2015) and most recently, No Time to Die (2021).
Earlier on Thursday, it was reported that Amazon Studios (which is part of MGM) is planning to establish a new partnership. This new venture will be responsible for managing the James Bond intellectual property rights. Under this new agreement, Amazon will take charge of creative control over the franchise. However, Wilson and Broccoli will still maintain their ownership stake in the property. Amazon acquired MGM in 2022, and since then, it has held the distribution rights for the James Bond films.
As a gamer, I’m taking a break from creating those epic Bond films to devote my time to art and philanthropy. For years, I’ve been working alongside Barbroccoli, carrying on the creative legacy passed down from their father, the legendary Cubby Broccoli. He’s been part of this thrilling franchise since its start, way back in 1962 with the groundbreaking Dr. No, starring the iconic Sean Connery – the very first Bond film!
After the ending of ‘No Time to Die’ and Michael stepping away from future films, Barbara Broccoli expressed that it’s now appropriate for her to concentrate on other endeavors, as stated by herself.
Curious supporters of the series are now eagerly waiting to observe the upcoming strategies from Amazon MGM Studios. These plans involve selecting the next actor who will put on a tuxedo, take a martini, and step into the role of James Bond (007).
