Dario Scardapane, showrunner and executive producer of “Daredevil: Born Again,” has given us a clearer insight into his plans for Season 2 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe series on Disney+. Particularly intriguing is the role Muse, one of Marvel’s most unsettling villains, will play, as this murderous “artist” promises to create quite a bloody spectacle not just in Season 1 but also beyond. Moreover, it seems that the narrative arc involving Muse will indelibly affect the most renowned resident of Hell’s Kitchen.
In a recent chat with TVLine, Scardapane revealed that Muse serves as a source of tension in the ongoing conflict between Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox) and Mayor Wilson Fisk (Vincent D’Onofrio). He hinted that the dynamic among the three characters won’t be resolved in the first season because the actions of the masked muralist will create a chain reaction, or “ripple effect,” extending into the second season. While he didn’t provide specifics about the storyline’s direction, Scardapane did hint that significant events are on the horizon.
In the narrative we’ve presented, the character referred to as ‘Muse’ leads to some startling outcomes, which unfortunately do not seem to cease. To express it simply, these events are ongoing and will continue to impact the plot even in Season 2.
In episode 4 of “Daredevil: Born Again”, an enigmatic villain emerges from the darkness. Initially, he’s spotted carrying a corpse through a subterranean passage. However, the situation becomes increasingly ominous when it’s revealed that this character is none other than a psychotic murderer. Later, he retrieves one of his victims and transports her to his hideout, where he appears to be extracting blood from her veins, possibly for use in his artwork. The chilling atmosphere of Muse’s underground lair will be revisited throughout the series, as showrunner and director Aaron Moorhead has emphasized that great care was taken in designing this disturbing setting.
I’m not certain about what I can reveal, but let me tell you, it seems incredibly immersive. The moment you step onto the set, it feels as if you’ve entered a secret hideout. There are numerous intriguing details that really grab your attention, and the directors, including Boyd and Jeffrey Nachmanoff, have done an excellent job of capturing these elements. This allows you to truly understand a character through their surroundings.
