Daredevil: Born Again’s Charlie Cox And Deborah Ann Woll Share Sweet Stories About Reuniting On Set

In about two weeks, we’ll be witnessing the debut of “Daredevil: Born Again”, an upcoming Marvel series where Charlie Cox reprises his role as Daredevil, along with several other characters from the original Netflix “Daredevil” series. Given that there were no initial plans to revive these supporting characters, their reuniting feels even more delightful for them.

The series “Daredevil: Born Again” experienced significant modifications during its production process. Although specifics about the alterations are yet to be fully disclosed, it’s been reported that lead actors Charlie Cox and Vincent D’Onofrio expressed dissatisfaction with the show’s original direction. Later, this direction apparently shifted, as shared by Charlie Cox in an interview with EW. Initially, not having Deborah Ann Woll and Eldon Henson involved was a distressing experience for him, but their presence on set brought a sense of healing.

It was unsettling and poignant that they hadn’t been present, but I had communicated with them, sharing information and my perspective of events. However, seeing them on set, strolling down the street, reminiscing about the past in both the scripted scene and off-camera, it was an emotional experience. Strangely enough, this was taking place in Hell’s Kitchen, a location we hadn’t filmed at before. In fact, we just happened to exit a storefront, and there were numerous fans on the street. It was a healing moment for me.

The 2007 Hollywood Writers’ Strike could have proven beneficial for the upcoming revival of Daredevil: Born Again. The pause in production, brought about by the strike, allowed the team to identify an issue that was otherwise overlooked. It appears as though the series was attempting to balance being a continuation of the Netflix series and a reboot simultaneously. Ultimately, it was determined that the show needed to choose one direction, which could potentially lead to a more focused and successful outcome.

According to executive producer Sana Amanat, characters Karen and Foggy (played by Moll and Henson) weren’t initially present in the initial adaptation of “Born Again“, but they wouldn’t have been there for sure, especially not during the first season. However, when the perspective shifted and the actors re-joined the cast, fans were thrilled. Woll expresses that reuniting with her co-stars was a moment of “pure joy…

We can’t help but gaze at each other in amazement. It’s almost as if we’re exclaiming, “Wow, here we are again! Incredible, isn’t it?” The sheer delight, the pure exhilaration… Just pondering on it gives me a thrill of happiness.

It appears that the majority of fans held similar opinions. The Netflix Daredevil series was generally highly appreciated, and it seemed like no one was eager for a reimagining. Judging by all indications, the upcoming series will strongly echo Season 4 of Daredevil, potentially qualifying as one of the most violent programs you can watch with a Disney+ subscription. The new series, titled Daredevil: Born Again, is set to premiere on March 4.
