Following a long wait spanning close to seven years, enthusiasts were ultimately rewarded with the action-packed double premiere of Daredevil: Rebirth. So far, both critics and viewers have expressed satisfaction with this new season, as it expands upon the Netflix series while steering it towards fresh territory. Additionally, the captivating opening credits sequence has been made available online.
Fans might remember how the Netflix series’ introductory credits showcased red tones transitioning into Daredevil. Given the fresh direction the show is now heading in, it makes sense that the new opening credits on Disney+ have been updated accordingly.
After unveiling the first two episodes, the current Rotten Tomatoes rating stands at 84%, while the audience score is an impressive 95%. On IMDb, the average rating is a high 9.3 out of 10, based on close to 3,000 votes at this moment. It can be concluded that the show has maintained its impact when it transitioned from Netflix to Disney+.
In MovieWeb’s assessment, Julian Roman notes that the fresh series delivers an action-packed experience by employing punches, kicks, stabs, stomps, and gunfire to make its debut on Disney+ in a grisly reboot sure to excite dedicated viewers. He recommends that less devoted fans consider catching up with or reviewing the Netflix series as a precursor to Born Again.
Roman also notes that Charlie Cox (as Matt Murdock/Daredevil) and Vincent D’Onofrio (as Wilson Fisk/The Kingpin) seem to genuinely enjoy their parts. Furthermore, he acknowledges that this new chapter may not be flawless, but it contains the right elements and appears to be moving in a positive direction.
As a die-hard movie enthusiast, I’m thrilled to share that the remaining chapters of “Daredevil: Born Again” will unfurl every Tuesday, starting at 9 pm Eastern Time and 6 pm Pacific Time. In total, we’ve got nine enthralling episodes in store for us. Unlike Netflix’s usual approach, where an entire season drops all at once, this series will be rolled out weekly. Can’t wait to dive back into the action!
‘Daredevil: Born Again’ Season 2: More Cast Confirmed to Return as Production Begins
As the first season unfolds on Disney+, executive producer and showrunner Dario Scardapane and his crew have already started developing Season 2. Filming for the next season is now underway in New York City, and we’ve got some fresh information about which characters will make a comeback.
Just now, it was made official that Deborah Ann Woll will reprise her role as Karen Page in Season 2. Upon reading the initial drafts of the scripts, she expressed her feelings by saying, “The scripts are fantastic! I feel incredibly humbled to be involved in the narrative that Dario has crafted. I am both awestruck and excited.”
In simple terms, the leader of Marvel Television, Brad Winderbaum, announced that Elden Hensen’s character, Franklin “Foggy” Nelson, will reappear as well. This guarantees that both of Daredevil’s closest companions will be on hand for the upcoming season, ensuring they are both there.
Winderbaum has high hopes that Daredevil: Born Again will continue beyond just Season 2, saying:
Next year, we can expect the release of Season 2. Following that, it’s hoped that Seasons 3 and beyond, possibly even an endless series, will follow suit. I believe the setting offers a wealth of untold tales in the bustling streets of New York.
In the meantime, both Cox and D’Onofrio have commended the scripts they’ve gone through for Season 2, with Cox describing them as among his “most preferred material” from the Netflix and Disney+ show.
The second season of “Daredevil: Born Again” is scheduled for release in 2026, but a specific launch date hasn’t been announced yet. However, considering that the first season premiered in March, we might anticipate a similar timing for the second season.
