In a chat about the first two episodes of Daredevil: Born Again, Elden Henson, Charlie Cox, Deborah Ann Woll, and Vincent D’Onofrio talked about a particularly intense scene. When asked for his thoughts on Foggy Nelson’s unexpected demise, actor Elden Henson simply said, “Not my idea.” The death of Foggy Nelson was initially part of the script for Daredevil: Born Again before the creative changes in 2023. Originally, his death was planned to occur off-screen. However, when new showrunner Dario Scardapane joined the production, he included an impactful 15-minute opening scene to make Foggy’s death more impactful.

Elden Henson shared that it was quite tough for him to part ways with Foggy Nelson. He really enjoyed portraying Foggy, he added. The scene where Daredevil tried to kill Bullseye by tossing him off a rooftop was particularly intense, leading to a significant turning point. This event prompted Matt Murdock to retire as Daredevil for a year, and Karen Page to leave Hell’s Kitchen. However, Henson believes the audience will have some sort of response to these developments.

Charlie Cox Had a Hilarious Reaction to Foggy’s Death

As the premiere of the new Daredevil series on Mar. 4 left fans in shock over Foggy’s demise, it was common knowledge among Charlie Cox and his fellow cast members for months. Consequently, Cox couldn’t help but respond to the heartfelt reactions of fans who shared their passionate responses to the trailers online. “You know those videos where fans express their reactions upon first seeing a trailer?” Cox explained. Apparently, the actor watched numerous reaction clips and found himself feeling sympathetic when their initial excitement turned into intense passion upon seeing Foggy, Karen, and Matt together on screen. He went on to say:

At the start of the trailer, there’s a scene where the three of us are strolling along a street. When this appeared on-screen, viewers had a reaction of delight, exclaiming something like “They’re back together!” But when I saw that, I couldn’t help but groan, thinking “Oh, no!”.

Every week, fresh installments of the show “Daredevil: Born Again” will become available on Disney+. The inaugural season consists of nine episodes altogether. Production for a second season has already commenced, and it too will span nine episodes. At this point, Marvel Studios has yet to announce whether they intend to carry on the series past the first two seasons. Nonetheless, there are indications that the franchise is poised for further development.
