Viewers won’t need to wait for “Daredevil: Born Again” to catch a glimpse of the Man Without Fear, as he will appear in the upcoming episode of the popular Disney+ show “Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man“. Known by his alter ego Matt Murdock, Daredevil is set to make an appearance in Episode 6 of the new animated series, which is scheduled to air this Wednesday, February 12.
Originating from the minds of Stan Lee and Bill Everett, Daredevil (alongside his legal persona Matt Murdock) has been a staple of the Marvel Universe since his first appearance in Daredevil #1 back in April 1964. Known for his crime-fighting exploits in New York City’s Hell’s Kitchen, he often interacts with Spider-Man, creating opportunities for exciting collaborations that fans eagerly anticipate seeing unfold on the big screen in the upcoming Spider-Man 4 – even more so after Charlie Cox reprised his role as Matt Murdock and acted as Peter Parker’s lawyer in Spider-Man: No Way Home.
As a die-hard movie fan, I’m thrilled to share some exciting news: You won’t have to wait much longer for the dynamic duo of Spider-Man and Daredevil to grace our screens together! Screen Rant has shared an exclusive sneak peek (right below) from the upcoming animated series, “Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man.” Charlie Cox reprises his role as Matt Murdock / Daredevil in this production, making him the sole character to be voiced by his MCU counterpart. Intriguingly, the clip depicts Spider-Man donning a suit inspired by the Future Foundation, squaring off against Daredevil who’s dressed in a black costume reminiscent of his “Shadowland” appearance.
In the animated series “Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man”, Daredevil makes an appearance as the latest Marvel character. This show offers a fresh take on Peter Parker’s backstory, deviating from the MCU’s portrayal of Spider-Man by having Norman Osborn instead of Tony Stark enter Peter Parker’s life. The series delves deep into Spider-Man’s supporting cast, presenting revamped versions of characters like Doctor Octopus, Tombstone, and Venom. Alongside these familiar faces, the show also introduces a variety of other Marvel heroes and their civilian identities such as Doctor Strange, Nico Minoru from The Runaways, Pearl Pangan (Wave), and Amadeus Cho, who is well-known as the Totally Awesome Hulk in the comics. Daredevil seamlessly integrates into this diverse ensemble of superheroes.
2025 Is the Year of Daredevil
In the upcoming series “Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man,” Daredevil makes a well-planned appearance, airing just three weeks before the premiere of “Daredevil: Born Again.” This new series is a continuation of the highly praised “Daredevil” series that streamed on Netflix from 2015 to 2018. Despite some recent criticism towards Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) titles for their disconnection, Daredevil seems to be the character tying together different parts of the MCU. Charlie Cox, who plays Matt Murdock, reprised his role in “Spider-Man: No Way Home” in 2021 and made a guest appearance in “She-Hulk: Attorney at Law” in 2022. He later showed up in the first episode of “Echo,” which heavily featured Daredevil’s main adversary, Wilson Fisk / The Kingpin, played by Vincent D’Onofrio, following his role on “Hawkeye.” Now, Daredevil and Kingpin’s roles in four connected MCU titles will culminate in “Daredevil: Born Again.”
2025 promises an abundance of Daredevil in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). The Man without Fear will make an appearance in Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man before embarking on his nine-episode journey in Daredevil: Born Again, exclusively on Disney+. Although Daredevil’s role might be minor in the upcoming Avengers films like Doomsday, set to begin filming in March 2025, the success of Daredevil: Born Again has already guaranteed a second season. Marvel Studios acknowledges the significance of Daredevil within their franchise and the growing popularity of characters like the Fantastic Four and X-Men indicate that the MCU can thrive without relying on Tony Stark’s Iron Man or Steve Rogers’ Captain America.
