Dave Franco, Alison Brie Body Horror ‘Together’ Lands at Neon

The film titled “Together”, featuring the real-life duo Alison Brie and Dave Franco in body horror roles, has now found a home at Neon. Known for its recent triumphs in horror movies such as “Longlegs”, Neon is set to distribute this new project.

Michael Shanks penned and orchestrated a film centered around a couple who’ve been together for quite some time, experiencing a rough patch in their relationship. In an attempt to rekindle things, they choose to relocate to the tranquil countryside, which unintentionally sets off a strange, supernatural occurrence. The movie made a grand entrance at the Sundance Film Festival with a boisterous debut screening that echoed with cheers, chuckles, and gasps of unease.

As a gamer, I’d say: “This flick, man, it’s got the perfect blend of chills and laughs! Shanks masterfully keeps the lovey-dovey drama from overshadowing the twisted fun of the elastic flesh. He finds humor in everyday social media nonsense, gay weddings, using muscle relaxants against supernatural forces, and yes, even that electric saw! It’s a breath of fresh air to watch a horror movie that leans more on suspense and disgust than cheap shocks. This one’s a must-watch!

Not only did Brie and Franco act in the movie, they were also its producers. Additionally, Picturestart, Tango, 1.21, and Princess Pictures all contributed as producers too.

The negotiations for the 2025 festival have been moving sluggishly so far, but “Together” was the initial significant transaction made. Other possible contenders are Mubi, who have recently experienced success with their release of the body horror film “The Substance,” which has garnered a gross revenue of $17 million in North America.

WME repped the filmmakers.
