As a long-time soccer enthusiast who grew up idolizing David Beckham, this news has me buzzing like a Golden Gate Bridge during a San Francisco summer! The idea of Becks hosting alternative broadcasts for UEFA Champions League games on Paramount+ is a dream come true.
David Beckham … broadcaster?
The famous soccer player who also owns Inter Miami will collaborate with CBS Sports in a marketing deal, providing special broadcasts for UEFA Champions League matches on Paramount+ instead of the usual ones.
On a recent episode of the UEFA Champions League Today studio show, Beckham officially announced the agreement.
The “Beckham & Friends” podcast is set to feature soccer icon David Beckham alongside his peers from various fields such as sports, media, and entertainment, who will discuss and analyze the UEFA Champions League Semifinal Leg 2 games and the UEFA Champions League Final.
The agreement encompasses the airing of altcasts that are scheduled up until 2026 on Paramount+. These broadcasts will be jointly produced by CBS Sports along with UEFA Champions League, Authentic, and Relevent Sports – a company considered pivotal in bringing this concept to life.
Yearly, Paramount+ broadcasts approximately 1500 soccer games, featuring competitions such as the UEFA Champions League, National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL), and Serie A. Additionally, it offers various sports programming including the NFL, NCAA March Madness basketball tournament, and The Masters golf event.
