It’s been a while since the concept of incorporating M3GAN into Dead by Daylight was initially proposed, and anticipation for this possibility has continued to escalate. The game already boasts a variety of iconic horror characters, such as Michael Myers, the Xenomorph, and even Nicolas Cage. So, we’re left wondering: Could M3GAN, the AI doll from the 2022 film, potentially become the next terrifying addition to the roster?
Approximately two years ago, discussions started among fans regarding M3GAN potentially being a lethal character in forums, with many pondering her role within the game. At the time, fans were taken aback by how successfully other seemingly unsuitable additions like Chucky were integrated, despite initial reservations about his diminutive size and its compatibility with the game. However, Behaviour Interactive skillfully addressed these concerns, demonstrating that even small-sized killers can make a significant impact.
The revelation sparked conversations about other prominent characters, with M3GAN being frequently brought up as one of them. An early point of contention among fans centered around M3GAN’s stature. Despite the fact that both M3GAN and Chucky are child-sized, it didn’t take long for fans to observe that Dead by Daylight had previously introduced smaller killers like The Hag, whose height is similar to that of M3GAN.
Behaviour Interactive suggests that size might not be as critical as it seems, given the adaptability of each killer’s mechanics. In an interview with TheGamer, the creative director, Jean Escalante, indicated that the team is open to incorporating smaller killers, like The Twins and Victor. Consequently, M3GAN’s smaller stature doesn’t necessarily mean she won’t pose a threat in the game.
Escalante, even though he hadn’t watched the movie personally, showed genuine enthusiasm for M3GAN to be included in Dead by Daylight. Apart from her imposing physical presence, the potential of M3GAN as an AI character is thought-provoking. In the film, M3GAN is portrayed as a smart AI that learns, adapts, and outmaneuvers those around her, which makes for fascinating scenarios.
This scenario might lead to a character equipped with advanced technology, a role that Dead by Daylight hasn’t explored extensively yet. Fans have been brainstorming possibilities on how M3GAN might align with the game’s functions. Some ideas propose her technical abilities could disable items like generators or survivor equipment, while others speculate she could employ her voice to mislead players into believing they hear other survivors or potential dangers around them.
With an increasing number of people expressing support for M3GAN, the anticipation for her arrival in Dead by Daylight continues to grow. Although Behaviour Interactive hasn’t officially announced anything yet, it’s clear that fans are eager to explore potential new tactics and gameplay elements that M3GAN might introduce.
