As a longtime gamer with a hearty appetite for all things horror, I can’t help but feel a mix of excitement and frustration at the news that Five Nights at Freddy’s is finally coming to Dead by Daylight. On one hand, I’ve been eagerly anticipating this crossover since the days of playing FNAF on a dusty old laptop late at night, my heart pounding with fear as I navigated those creepy corridors filled with animatronic terrors.
As I sit huddled in my gaming chair, listening to the eerie silence of the night, it feels as if something sinister is lurking just beyond the screen. Although Dead by Daylight has always been home to a host of chilling entities, a new breed of terrors are about to leave their mark on this horror franchise.
To mark ten years of Freddy Fazbear, ScottGames has promised an exciting month filled with announcements. Although some people speculated that these mechanical monsters might appear in Fortnite, it turns out that Behaviour Interactive is planning a collaboration between Dead by Daylight and Five Nights at Freddy’s to create a chilling experience.

As a passionate fan, I’ve been yearning for Five Nights at Freddy’s to make its grand entrance in Dead by Daylight for quite some time now. Given the genre’s knack for asymmetrical horror and the chilling concept of being pursued by malevolent animatronics in a haunted setting, it seemed only natural that this combination would be a perfect fit. However, to my dismay, it appears that we’ll have to wait a bit longer for this dream to become reality.
Despite the excitement among gamers that FNaF is joining Dead by Daylight, there’s a catch: We won’t see it until 2025. This does dampen some of the excitement surrounding the news, but it makes strategic sense for both parties because next year is when Emma Tammi’s live-action sequel to Five Nights at Freddy’s will premiere in cinemas.
Besides the long delay, many found it underwhelming that this was the major reveal ScottGames had hyped up. Even though DbD supporters emerged victorious from this, Fortnite enthusiasts are voicing their dissatisfaction by calling it a loss. One disappointed player expressed, “We were defeated so badly.”
1. The first individual exclaimed, “Dude, get lost! We were hoping for Fortnite this summer 2025, so why announce it now? It’s like rubbing salt in the wound.” A second person added, “This timeline is messed up. We seem to be living in the worst-case scenario of the universe.“. Despite ScottGames wanting to honor Freddy’s anniversary, there’s a clear sense that fans have been given false hope here.
As a longtime fan of horror video games, I can hardly contain my excitement for what’s in store for us gamers in the coming years! With Five Nights at Freddy’s scheduled to arrive sometime in 2025, I can already feel the adrenaline pumping as I envision myself once again facing those terrifying animatronics.
