As a gamer with decades of comic book-inspired adventures under my belt, I can confidently say that the success of Deadpool & Wolverine has truly taken my breath away! The sheer magnitude of its box office dominance is nothing short of astounding, eclipsing even the notorious Joker’s record-setting reign. It’s a testament to the enduring appeal of these iconic characters and the masterful storytelling that brings them to life on screen.
It’s time to give a round of applause! The joint venture film starring Ryan Reynolds (as Deadpool) and Hugh Jackman (as Wolverine), titled “Deadpool & Wolverine“, has now become the highest-earning R-rated movie ever made.
Based on Variety’s report, the Marvel film has amassed an impressive $1.086 billion USD at worldwide box offices within just 23 days, surpassing the record-breaking $1.078 billion USD earnings of Joker in 2019. Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige expressed his gratitude in a statement, saying, “We’re thrilled that Marvel Studios’ first R-rated film has become the highest-grossing movie ever made. It’s wonderful to see audiences enjoying this film as much as we enjoyed creating it. All those discussions were definitely worth it!”
2024’s second Disney movie, namely “Inside Out 2‘s” sequel, has surpassed $1 billion USD at the box office, joining the ranks of 31 Disney films and 11 within the Marvel Cinematic Universe to accomplish this milestone.
