Deepika Padukone is 'to the point', Ranveer Singh is 'energy ka bhandaar', Gulshan Devaiah describes his Ram-Leela co-stars

As an ardent follower of Indian cinema, I must say that Gulshan Devaiah’s words about Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh are nothing short of heartwarming! Having had the privilege to watch them on-screen since their early days, it’s fascinating to see their growth as artists.

Gulshan Devaiah is a fantastic actor known for his sincere views. In recent remarks, the actor from “Ulajh” admired Deepika Padukone, a skilled actress, whom he collaborated with in the film “Ram-Leela,” along with Ranveer Singh.

2013 brought us the romantic drama, Ram Leela, which saw Gulshan Devaiah playing Bhavani. This production by Sanjay Leela Bhansali had Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone in the main roles. After working alongside these two talented actors, Gulshan Devaiah couldn’t help but heap praise on both of them.

Gulshan praised Ranveer Singh as an “endless source of energy” and jokingly stated that his energy reserves are always fully stocked. Furthermore, regarding Deepika Padukone, the actor expressed that it was his first experience collaborating with a true “professional actor.”

She creates a comfortable environment for you, but it’s not like we’re becoming friends per se. However, she does make work and interaction easier because she works very hard.” (Spoken with Filmygyan)

In a light-hearted manner, Devaiah admitted his favoritism towards her by saying, “She hails from my hometown, Bangalore. I don’t take kindly to any negative comments regarding her.”

In the course of their discussion, Gulshan revealed that one particular scene he shared with Deepika Padukone was cut from the project. He confessed that he felt disappointed since this scene would have provided insight into his character’s journey. However, it was director Sanjay Leela Bhansali who made the call, later providing him with a rationalization for the decision.

He went on to explain that he couldn’t recall the scene because at the time, he was distraught and overwhelmed by his feelings. However, he admitted that it was one of his favorite scenes from the movie. Essentially, he said, “It was as if it were your film, do whatever you wish.” Nonetheless, since it was near the end of the filming process, overall, it turned out to be a “satisfying” experience for him.

Gulshan was last seen in Ulajh co-starring Janhvi Kapoor.
