Speaking to Marie Claire, she recalled missing an essential meeting with a director to stay at home with her daughter, Dua, which led to a comment she found both puzzling and disheartening. “He remarked, ‘It seems like she’s taking motherhood very seriously,'” Deepika shared, furrowing her brow as she recounted the interaction. “I wasn’t sure if that was a compliment or a criticism. What does it mean—taking motherhood seriously? Indeed!”
This incident underscores Deepika’s evolving journey as both a mother and an actor. Since Dua’s birth in September 2024, her life has been undergoing a transformation. “I wouldn’t say I’m lost… but I wouldn’t say I’ve found [my new identity] either,” she admitted. “I feel like I’m figuring it out.”
