Delta Force pre-orders now open for Android and iOS

As a seasoned gamer with memories of Delta Force etched deep into my gaming history, the news of its revival under Level Infinite has filled me with a mix of nostalgia and anticipation. Having cut my teeth on this series before Call of Duty was even a twinkle in Activision’s eye, I can’t help but feel a sense of nostalgic excitement at the prospect of returning to its realistic shooter action and neat gadgets.

Registration for the reintroduction of the legendary Delta Force series by Level Infinite, previously known as Delta Force: Hawk Ops, has commenced. This new version offers a blend of missions and game modes, along with a more strategic approach to gameplay. Tencent is using this title as their major entry into the contemporary military shooter market, with a release scheduled for late January 2025.

If you’re not familiar with Delta Force, that’s okay. Many people aren’t. However, this video game series has played a crucial role in first-person shooting games since before Call of Duty became popular. Named after the famously secretive special forces unit of the U.S. military, Delta Force emphasized realistic combat action and boasted an array of cool gadgets and authentic weaponry.

Tencent’s Level Infinite has skillfully brought back Delta Force with style. The warfare mode offers an opportunity to dive into large-scale conflicts reminiscent of Battlefield, while Operations delves into the extraction shooter genre. Moreover, a single-player campaign inspired by the Battle of Mogadishu, drawing heavily from the 2001 film Black Hawk Down, is something to eagerly anticipate in 2025.


Cheaters never prosper

Although there’s been a lot of excitement surrounding Delta Force, it hasn’t been free from controversy. One of the significant problems faced by many modern shooter games is cheating, and Tencent appears to be tackling this issue aggressively, perhaps too aggressively. Their dedicated team, G.T.I. Security, are said to work tirelessly on this matter, but their approach – restricting certain programs and even hardware for the PC release – has been met with criticism.

As someone who enjoys gaming, I can say that the cheating problem in Delta Force has turned some players away from it. However, with the upcoming mobile release and the reduced likelihood of cheating on this platform, there’s a chance that it could meet our expectations and provide an enjoyable gaming experience.
