As a seasoned crypto investor who’s weathered countless market storms, I can’t help but admire DeltaPrime’s tenacity in the face of adversity. The hack they suffered was a significant blow, but their swift and strategic response is commendable. The deadline for dialogue and the threat of legal action, while bold, seems like a calculated move to me.
DeltaPrime, a decentralized finance platform for borrowing and lending, has given an attacker a set time to discuss recovering the funds, warning they may take legal action if no communication is made.
On November 11th, DeltaPrime – a borrowing platform within the decentralized finance sector – was subjected to a hack resulting in a loss of $4.8 million. Now, they’ve given an ultimatum to the perpetrator, requiring a response by 8 AM CET on November 14th.
A message to the attacker (respond by nov 14th, 8am cet)
Yesterday we sent you an on-chain message on: .
It seems like you either missed this message, or decided to postpone a response in order to farm more rewards on LFJ and Stargate.
We are confident…

On November 13th in a post on platform X, one of the founders, Gavin Hasselbaink, cautioned that if discussions were not initiated, it could result in taking legal measures and attempting to uncover the identity of the offender.
Without a doubt, there are multiple clues pointing towards your true identity. It’s only a matter of time before we need to follow up on these leads so we can return the funds associated with your user account.

After the assault, DeltaPrime dispatched a message about the stolen funds’ retrieval directly on the blockchain to the hacker, but it appears that the hacker either didn’t see the message or chose to delay a reply, according to Hasselbaink.
In a public message, the protocol emphasized that its priority remains “safe fund retrieval,” reassuring the attacker of its commitment to anonymity, citing past collaborations with other attackers who had voluntarily returned stolen funds.
DeltaPrime has announced that November 14th is the last day for the hacker to initiate talks regarding the $4.8 million stolen during the cyberattack. If there’s no contact made by then, the event will no longer be viewed as a friendly hack, and they will escalate the situation accordingly, according to the post.
The most recent assault marks the second instance where the system was compromised by cybercriminals, with the earlier occurrence in September leading to a $6 million deficit. Back then, the assailants exploited a weak point in private key security to seize and empty the project’s susceptible contract.
Previously, it was noted by blockchain investigator ZachXBT that DeltaPrime used to hire North Korean IT workers. Yet, the analyst highlighted that these individuals have since been dismissed, leaving their potential involvement in the hack ambiguous and unclear.
