As a fan who has been captivated by Demi Moore’s remarkable career for decades, her recent insights into her choice of roles resonate deeply with me. Her fearless approach to taking on projects that could potentially be “an absolute disaster” yet hold “something extraordinary” is inspiring and reflects the spirit of an artist unafraid to push boundaries.
Demi Moore is sharing one of the main things she looks for before taking on any role or project.
In a recent interview on the show “Hot Ones,” the actress was asked to elaborate on her earlier remarks about the script for “The Substance” possibly being something remarkable or potentially catastrophic.
Moore explained that the movie, her latest body horror project, carried a message implying it was a gamble worth taking because of its value.
The actress from G.I. Jane expressed, “I felt the same about Ghost too because it blended so many diverse genres. I genuinely thought, ‘This might be incredible or a catastrophe.’ Regardless, it’s the kind of project that invites you to dive in, take a chance, roll the dice, and see where it leads.
In 1990, Moore acted alongside the late Patrick Swayze in a surprising box-office hit, a supernatural romantic-thriller that earned over $500 million in ticket sales.
Towards the end of the program, Evans inquired from the actress on “Feud” about what she perceives as the most critical danger to filmmaking, given her extensive experience with numerous film projects.
Moore suggested that losing the cinema experience might be detrimental. He’s concerned about the increasing isolation we face, not just in cinemas but in life as a whole. For him, our shared experiences at the cinema foster connections between people. Although he admires streaming and recognizes its benefits, he hopes for a balance where we can continue to enjoy both platforms, especially returning to theaters to preserve that unique communal experience.
