Demi Moore Touts CineVita’s L.A. Launch: “Escaping Into the Golden Age of Cinema Is Pure Magic”

As a lifelong cinephile who’s spent countless hours engrossed in the intricate worlds of Quentin Tarantino, I can hardly contain my excitement for CineVita’s grand opening! The prospect of stepping into a Belgian Spiegeltent and being immersed in a high-octane 360-degree concert experience, inspired by none other than the mastermind himself, is simply mind-blowing.

There’s a CineVita coming to town.

In the upcoming year, the theatrical group For the Record is set to debut a new “live cinema” venue at Hollywood Park, situated close to SoFi Stadium. On January 21st, this venue, named CineVita, will open its doors by hosting its first show, titled “Tarantino | Pulp Rock“. This performance is an ode to filmmaker Quentin Tarantino and aims to translate his cinematic universe into a thrilling 360-degree concert experience through the collaboration of a live band and artists. The show will blend iconic scenes and music tracks from all nine of Tarantino’s films, including “Reservoir Dogs, Pulp Fiction, Kill Bill, Jackie Brown, Death Proof, Inglourious Basterds, Django Unchained, The Hateful Eight“, and “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood“.

Anderson Davis serves as the director for the film “Tarantino | Pulp Rock,” which features music supervision and arrangements by Jesse Vargas, choreography by Sumie Maeda, and costume design by Steve Mazurek. The design team at CineVita includes lighting design by Emmy winner Mike Berger and sound design by Tony Award nominee Joshua Reid.

CineVita resides within a structure known as a Belgian Mirror Tent (translated from Dutch), a 15,000-square-foot space meticulously crafted with approximately 3,000 hand-beveled mirrors, intricate stained glass windows, and elaborate wood carvings. The Rik Klessens family, in partnership with West Coast Spiegeltents and Emmy Award-winning designer Matt Steinbrenner, construct this tent. Steinbrenner has been the long-term scenic designer for For The Record.

1) CineVita is based in Los Angeles until mid-summer, following which it embarks on a nationwide tour across the U.S. After the Tarantino performance, For the Record will transition to other renowned directors such as John Hughes, Baz Luhrmann, the Coen brothers, Paul Thomas Anderson, Martin Scorsese, Robert Zemeckis, and Garry and Penny Marshall by selecting shows from their collection. One of those presentations, featuring Baz Luhrmann, starred Demi Moore‘s daughter, Rumer Willis.

For more than ten years, For The Record has transformed into a remarkable entity – a creative and nostalgic tribute to cinema and music. When Rumer initially became part of this gifted team of artists, I witnessed the camaraderie and inspiration they cultivated firsthand. With CineVita, this vision has soared even higher. The concept of entering a finely crafted tent and immersing oneself in the golden era of cinema is enchanting magic. It’s a nostalgic trip down memory lane with our favorite movies, but it’s also about something more profound – uniting people to share a mutual experience, much like films have always done. I am incredibly proud to contribute to the realization of this distinctive idea and bring it to audiences nationwide, from LA to NY and beyond.

Jen Sandstrom, vice president of programming and booking at SoFi Stadium and Hollywood Park, expressed her excitement: “Hollywood Park was designed to be an exceptional venue for unmissable events, and we are delighted to host the world premiere of CineVita here. This unique, genre-bending production will take our audience on a journey back to the golden era of cinema through live performances, showcasing the arts and reinforcing Hollywood Park’s status as a lively, must-visit destination.
