To start off the new year, CNCPTS and New Balance wrapped up their two-phase 740 project with the release of the “Brut” colorway. Now, Deion Point, creative director at CNCPTS, has hinted at potential future collaborations between the two long-standing partners. He’s shared sneak peeks of several joint designs based on the New Balance 1000 shoe, a model that New Balance reintroduced from its archives last year.
The CNCPTS x New Balance 1000 model sports multiple white and green color combinations, drawing inspiration from the U.S. $1,000 bill last printed by the Treasury Department in 1945. Point hints at this in his second Instagram post slide. This collaboration marks their second project themed around currency, as their successful “C-Note” 998 series was reissued for its 10th anniversary in 2023. The preview image suggests that potential retail releases may feature a mixed upper material and pink/red branding elements scattered across, with CNCPTS branding on the tongues. However, we have yet to receive official confirmation about which pairs will be available for purchase.
As I type this, neither CNCPTS nor New Balance have verified if they will release any of these color options for the 1000 sneaker. Nevertheless, we anticipate that they will unveil their campaign later in the year, with a probable launch through CNCPTS and New Balance at around the usual $150 USD price range.
