Department of Homeland Security Considering Pitch for U.S. Citizenship Competition Reality Show

The Department of Homeland Security is contemplating an idea for a reality TV series, proposed by a producer known for ‘Duck Dynasty’, centered around the process of becoming an American citizen.

As a fervent admirer, let me share the intriguing concept behind a new show titled “The American“. This captivating series, conceived by reality TV maestro Rob Worsoff (renowned for his work on Duck Dynasty and The Millionaire Matchmaker), aims to test the mettle of aspiring U.S. citizens through a series of engaging challenges. On his Facebook page, he confirmed this exciting development last Friday. In his own words, “It’s not malicious; rather, ‘The American‘ is a heartfelt tribute to the essence of what it means to be… indeed, American – at a time when our spirits are as low as they’ve ever been.

According to an announcement made to The Hollywood Reporter, Tricia McLaughlin, who serves as the assistant secretary for public affairs at the Department of Homeland Security, stated that they were examining the show in question.

As a fan, I’d put it like this: “Every year, I come across hundreds of ideas for TV shows, spanning from documentaries about ICE and CBP border operations to investigations into white-collar crimes by HSI. Before any green light is given, each proposal goes through a rigorous review process before being either rejected or accepted.

McLaughlin stated that the individual is currently undergoing the initial evaluation phase, yet has not been either approved or rejected by the team.

I stumbled upon some breaking news today, straight from The Daily Mail. They shared that Secretary of Homeland Security, Kristi Noem, had been advocating for a particular project. However, in response to this, McLaughlin stated point-blank that it wasn’t true.

In his remarks, Worsoff stated that he hadn’t conversed with Noem personally yet, but he has been collaborating with some of her colleagues at the Department of Homeland Security. Additionally, he mentioned that he had presented the show during both the Obama and Biden administrations. He explained that it wasn’t an outright rejection from any administration; rather, it was always a matter of timing.

As a gamer, I can confirm that Worsoff revealed some exciting news to the Wall Street Journal about an upcoming TV show. This program will be all about competition, with participants diving into quintessential American experiences – like striking gold in San Francisco’s mines or piecing together a Model T in Detroit. Can’t wait to see who emerges victorious!

More to come.
