As a seasoned gamer and design enthusiast, I’m always on the lookout for unique and authentic pieces to add character to my virtual and real-life spaces. The recent collaboration between Design Within Reach (DWR) and Beni, unveiling an exclusive collection of Moroccan rugs, has piqued my interest like no other.
Design Within Reach introduces a unique line of Moroccan rugs in partnership with Beni, which is DWR’s first retail collaboration for this product category. This collection presents four fresh designs that are part of Beni’s new Low Pile style: Brick, Borderline, Backgammon, and Fences.
In Marrakesh, Beni was established in 2018, bringing about a groundbreaking transformation in Moroccan rug production through its vertically integrated workshop. This innovative approach guarantees just fair pay for weavers involved in the process. By merging time-honored techniques with modern design sensibilities, these rugs proudly showcase the charm of “imperfect perfection.”
Handcrafted rugs, made on Atlas Mountain, boast unique designs created from the wool of living sheep. Each rug showcases geometric patterns and contemporary colors that interact with scale and proportion. The foundation of these designs lies in various shades of beige, while additional hues such as maroon, olive green, coral, and black add depth. Simplistic yet captivating patterns, consisting of lines and shapes, enhance the visual appeal without cluttering the area.
Starting July 25, I’ll be able to add some new rugs to my gaming setup from DWR’s fall collection. You can find them online through their retail studio and official website. There are five different sizes to choose from, with prices ranging from $1,295 to $7,995 USD.
