‘Devil Wears Prada 2’ Starts Filming with Anne Hathaway, Meryl Streep, Emily Blunt and Stanley Tucci

Fans, it’s time to refresh your memories about cerulean: the sequel to “The Devil Wears Prada” has been confirmed!

The movie will begin filming this week, 20 years after its initial release in cinemas. It’s scheduled to be shot in New York and Italy. Anne Hathaway, Meryl Streep, Emily Blunt, and Stanley Tucci are already on board for the sequel, with Kenneth Branagh joining the cast, according to reports from The Hollywood Reporter.

In 2006, a movie adaptation titled after its namesake novel unfolds. The story revolves around Andy (Hathaway), freshly graduated from journalism school, who secures a highly sought-after job as an assistant to a character resembling Anna Wintour, named Miranda Priestly (Streep). Andy’s journey into the realm of magazines and luxury fashion is facilitated by her fellow assistant (Blunt). The film went on to make $326 million globally at the box office and garnered Streep an Academy Award nomination.

In the update we shared earlier, it’s mentioned that Priestly, who remains the leader of Runway, is facing challenges from the turbulence in publishing, as the magazine currently finds itself in a weakened condition. Previously Blunt’s assistant, will now serve as an executive for a luxury brand conglomerate that has advertising agreements with Runway.

Branagh is set to portray Priestley’s spouse, whereas Tucci reprises his role as Nigel Kipling, the former artistic director of the runway from the initial movie.
