Dexter: Resurrection Shocks Fans with David Dastmalchian’s Unexpected Role!

As a movie enthusiast, I’m thrilled to share that the stellar cast of “Dexter: Resurrection” is expanding even further! The talented David Dastmalchian, recognized for his remarkable work in the DC Universe, has now joined the production team. This highly-anticipated sequel series already boasts an impressive roster of stars such as Peter Dinklage from “Game of Thrones”, Uma Thurman from “Kill Bill”, and Neil Patrick Harris from “How I Met Your Mother”. Can’t wait to see these incredible talents bring the story to life when it hits our screens this summer!

According to reports, Kevin Dastmalchian has signed up for a guest role on the upcoming series “Dexter: Resurrection.” His character, Gareth, will likely appear briefly, as he’s not expected to stay long. The specifics of his role are still undisclosed, leaving us guessing whether he’ll be an ally or adversary to Michael C. Hall’s Dexter. Filming for the series has begun in New York, and while a concrete release date is yet to be announced, it’s anticipated that “Dexter: Resurrection” will premiere on Paramount+ with Showtime this summer.

Known for his diverse roles spanning fifteen years within the DC Universe, actor Dastmalchian has made a significant impact on this generation’s cinema. He first appeared in “The Dark Knight” (2008) as the troubled character Thomas Schiff, followed by voicing Calendar Man in the animated film “Batman: The Long Halloween, Part One,” continuing his role in Part Two while also providing the voice for both the Penguin. In 2021, he portrayed Abner Krill / Polka-Dot Man in James Gunn’s “The Suicide Squad.” It is worth mentioning that Dastmalchian also had a short tenure within the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Kurt in two “Ant-Man” films.

David Dastmalchian Is the Perfect Addition to the ‘Dexter’ Universe

Beyond my time shared with the DCU, I’ve had quite a run in horror and suspense movies throughout my acting journey. It seems that this background makes me an ideal fit for the world of Dexter, given its sinister undertones. While I might be most recognized for my lead role in “Late Night with the Devil,” I also graced the screen in 2023 with appearances in Stephen King’s “The Boogeyman,” Hulu’s “The Boston Strangler,” and André Øvredal’s “The Last Voyage of the Demeter.

To emphasize his fascination with the darker side, Dastmalchian runs a chat program titled “Grave Conversations“, where he and his guests recline in coffins during discussions about life, death, Tinseltown, and more. Initially launched on his Instagram, it has since been transferred to its own YouTube channel, offering viewers the chance to watch him converse with figures such as Mike Flanagan, Matthew Lillard, Kate Siegel, and Jack Quaid.

I must admit, it’s always a treat when Dastmalchian graces the screen, whether it’s for just a few minutes or longer, in the upcoming series “Dexter: Resurrection”. Over the past couple of years, he has proven himself to be one of my favorite actors, thanks to his remarkable talent for slipping into any role effortlessly. Don’t miss out on “Resurrection” when it premieres this summer, and you can catch up on the entire “Dexter” universe right now by streaming it on Paramount+ with Showtime.
