As someone who has followed both AP Dhillon and Diljit Dosanjh for quite some time now, it’s been a rollercoaster ride these past few days! The fiasco between them is certainly making headlines, and as a fan, I can’t help but feel a bit caught in the middle.
AP Dhillon and Diljit Dosanjh are well-known figures in the Punjabi music scene, but their recent disagreement has been attracting attention lately. Recently, AP Dhillon expressed his thoughts on ticket scalping for concerts, stating it’s unjust towards artists. This remark has reignited discussions, and some people believe he might have made a veiled criticism against fellow artist Diljit Dosanjh.
As an ardent admirer, I couldn’t help but echo AP Dhillon’s sentiments in his recent chat with Ranveer Allahbadia on his podcast. He passionately spoke against the deceptive practice of claiming sold-out shows when they aren’t, which he believes could lead to issues within our nation. The reason being, artificially escalating ticket prices is downright unjust towards fans like me who look up to these artists and want nothing more than a fair chance to witness their magic live on stage.
If this trend persists, a crisis is imminent in India as artists are selling out shows within mere seconds, which can be considered unjust towards their fans. In truth, nothing has actually been sold out.
The performer pointed out that artists provide tickets to promoters who later resell them at a higher cost, this being a common aspect of their marketing tactics. He also clarified that fans often have to endure a costly and lengthy purchasing process, which he considers unfair.
AP Dhillon lamented that the current state of the music industry is akin to a game, and he feels that the fun aspect of it has been lost. He also mentioned he could secure 2,000 tickets for any sold-out show on short notice.
After Diljit Dosanjh acknowledged Brown Munde singer and Karan Aujla for their successful concerts in India, the Brown Munde singer responded to Ek Kudi with a statement suggesting that there were issues between them. The situation escalated when Dosanjh posted a screenshot of his Instagram account, claiming he had not blocked the singer, causing a stir.
