I, as an ardent fan of Ajay Devgn, am thrilled to share that he’s preparing for the upcoming releases of not one but two highly anticipated films – “Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha” and “Singham Again.” Before these projects take center stage, Ajay took a trip down memory lane. He reminisced about the time when he joined forces with Mahesh Bhatt for his last production, “Zakhm.”

‘I was in the shower when the landline in my room rang,’ says Ajay Devgn 

In an amusing interview with The Lallantop, Ajay Devgn recounted the unusual story of how he ended up starring in Mahesh Bhatt’s final film, Zakhm (1998), during a shower break.

During his time in Hyderabad for filming, before the mobile phone era, Ajay shared that working with Mahesh Bhatt was a pleasure. Once, while taking a shower in his room, the landline telephone would ring, which was usually placed near the bathroom. Ajay simply answered and heard Mahesh Bhatt’s voice requesting to speak with him.

Devgn shared, “Bhatt sahib told me, ‘I’m making my final film and retiring after this,’ but I was taking a shower at the time. I replied, ‘Bhatt sahib, I’m having a shower, I’ll join the project later.’ That’s how Zakhm came about. He kept his promise and never made another film afterwards.”

In addition to discussing the movie, Ajay mentioned that certain scenes were incredibly powerful. When it came time to shoot these scenes on set, there were instances where his role required minimal action, yet the strength of the scenes compelled him to deeply convey emotions while simply standing.

In the upcoming movie “Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha,” Tabu and Ajay will appear together on screen for the first time. The release date for this film is August 2.
