As an ardent fan of Kartik Aaryan, I find his journey from the confines of an engineering college to the glamorous world of Bollywood absolutely captivating! The story of his mother’s initial apprehensions and eventual acceptance of his dream is a testament to the power of perseverance.
Initially, Kartik Aaryan was raised by parents who were doctors and harbored hopes that their son would become an engineer. In accordance with their wishes, he enrolled in D. Y. Patil College of Engineering in Navi Mumbai to study biotechnology. However, while in the city of dreams, Mumbai, he found himself drawn towards acting as well. When he landed his first film, Pyaar Ka Punchnama, his mother expressed disapproval. Consequently, she visited director Luv Ranjan’s office to request that Kartik be removed from the movie.
In a conversation with Galatta India, Kartik Aaryan’s mother, Mala Tiwari, shared a heartfelt story about a phone call from her son that left her in tears. She explained that the call came after he had been chosen for Luv Ranjan’s film titled Pyaar Ka Punchnama.
Although he was shedding joyful tears, his mother felt a profound sadness because he had deceived her about earning an engineering degree and instead chose to act in Bollywood films instead. At that moment, she became enraged and scolded him, “I sent you to finish your education and establish yourself in life, why on earth would you pursue acting? There is so much instability involved!” And she began crying along with him.
Upon Kartik’s query as to why I was tears, I confessed that I was taken aback, pondering over what that director could possibly see in my son among all the talents worldwide. Eager to shield him from the acting realm, I visited Luv’s office and posed the question: Why would you pick my son out of everyone on this planet?
I requested the filmmaker in a private conversation to exclude my son from the movie. Fortunately, he was unwilling to comply with my wish. However, the condition set by me for allowing my son to pursue his acting aspirations was that he must first complete his engineering degree, which he eventually did.
Through his first film, Kartik has established a reputation in the film industry. Since then, he’s been involved in numerous successful films such as Pyaar Ka Punchnama 2, Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety, Luka Chuppi, among others. Currently, he’s basking in the box office glory of his latest release Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, alongside Vidya Balan, Madhuri Dixit, and Triptii Dimri.
