As a lifelong admirer of Nikhil Advani’s work, I find his journey in Bollywood to be nothing short of inspiring. From his humble beginnings as an associate director on movies like Mohabbatein and Kal Ho Naa Ho, to becoming a renowned director and producer himself, he has consistently pushed boundaries and taken risks that have paid off handsomely.
In simpler terms, Nikhil Advani first stepped into directorial roles with the 2003 film titled Kal Ho Naa Ho, which falls under the romantic-drama genre. Notable stars like Shah Rukh Khan, Saif Ali Khan, and Preity Zinta played crucial parts in this movie. Despite being an enduring hit that garnered commercial success, Shah Rukh Khan himself expressed his opinion that it was not up to par, using the term ‘rubbish’.
In a recent chat, the director of Salaam-e-Ishq disclosed the reason behind Shah Rukh’s statement regarding his initial film. Keep reading to find out more!
Shah Rukh Khan has a habit of humorously criticizing films, says Nikhil Advani
Noted Bollywood director and producer Nikhil Advani recently discussed his career in an interview with Galatta Plus. During the conversation, he spoke about his experiences collaborating with Shah Rukh Khan. The filmmaker disclosed that Khan has a tendency to critique the films he is currently involved in.
Nikhil revealed that while he was an associate director on Mohabbatein alongside SRK (popularly known as King Khan), SRK was simultaneously working on Hey Ram. He mentioned that SRK often attends meetings and expresses his opinion that the film being made with him is poor, suggesting they should focus on the other project instead. Nikhil recalled an instance when SRK criticized Kal Ho Naa Ho during the making of Devdas, calling it rubbish while praising Devdas as fantastic. He explained that this behavior was a regular occurrence for SRK.
Nikhil Advani’s Vedaa gets censor certificate
As a passionate lifestyle enthusiast and filmmaker, I’m thrilled to announce that my upcoming cinematic masterpiece, Vedaa, is now officially certified U/A by the Central Board of Film Certification. This marks a significant milestone in my journey as a storyteller, as the revising committee saw fit to approve the film without a single cut. I can hardly contain my excitement as we gear up for its release, knowing that soon, audiences across the country will have the opportunity to immerse themselves in the world of Vedaa.
A trustworthy insider revealed that TopMob’s production team has been instructed to include a disclaimer at the start, and the content has received approval from the certification authority. The team behind Vedaa is pleased with the seamless process and feels gratified that the CBFC team understood the significant issue they are tackling in their film.
In the upcoming action-drama movie, set to hit screens on August 15, 2024, John Abraham, Sharvari, Abhishek Banerjee, and Tamannaah Bhatia play significant roles. The film draws inspiration from real-life events.
