Did you know Shah Rukh Khan was asked to leave by Mannat watchman while filming Yes Boss song? What happened next is truly inspiring

Shah Rukh Khan and his family now call home a six-story architectural masterpiece situated in Mumbai. This heritage bungalow, nestled within the Bandstand district, stands as a symbol of the incredible journey of a Delhi boy with big dreams, who went on to rule the Bollywood kingdom as we know it today. However, before he became its owner, SRK had dreamt of purchasing this very property when he was turned away by the watchman during the filming of the iconic song “Chaand Tare” from Yes Boss, outside the bungalow. Speaking with Lehren Retro, director Ahmed Khan reminisced about filming the song alongside Shah Rukh Khan. He vividly remembered filming the legendary track in front of the historic Villa Vienna bungalow. Ahmed shared, “Chaand Tare, I recall we were shooting outside Mannat and the watchman asked us to leave.

In a recent update about the filming of Heropanti 2, the director revealed some details about a scene that features Shah Rukh Khan’s residence, Mannat. He stated, “A scene includes a vehicle carrying a Parsi couple and Shah Rukh suddenly appearing on the car.” Following this shot, the security guard requested them to depart. This is when the actor playfully suggested, “Shall I purchase it? Then we can take another shot.

The actor from Pathaan humorously told everyone on set, “If we purchase this, our shot will be finished.” Remarkably, those words came true, and much later, the megastar actually bought that property in 2001 for INR 13.01 crores, which he named Mannat.

At present, due to renovations at their current residence, the Khans are planning to shift temporarily to a pair of rented apartments in the Puja Casa building situated in the Pali Hill area of Khar, leased from the Bhagnani family. The combined size of these two duplexes is approximately 10,500 sq ft, which is significantly smaller than their main residence, Mannat, spanning 27,000 sq ft.

The entire edifice is jointly owned by Jackky Bhagnani, his sister Deepshikha Bhagnani, and their father, film producer Vashu Bhagnani. Interestingly, both Jackky and his actress wife Rakul Preet Singh, as well as Vashu and his spouse Pooja Bhagnani, all reside within the same building.
