Did you know Yami Gautam, Pratik Gandhi’s Dhoom Dhaam was initially Raat Baaki with Katrina Kaif, Fawad Khan? Aditya Dhar reveals

On Valentine’s Day, the action-comedy film “Dhoom Dhoom,” themed around weddings, made its debut on online streaming platforms. The movie features Yami Gautam and Pratik Gandhi in the main roles. Interestingly, Aditya Dhar, the film’s producer, disclosed that it was originally named “Raat Baaki.” Furthermore, it was intended to star Katrina Kaif and Fawad Khan.

Reports indicated that Aditya Dhar was slated to begin his directorial career with the movie titled Raat Baaki, initially planned for a 2016 release. Katrina Kaif and Fawad Khan were expected to star as the main characters in this film, which shared the same plotline as the recently premiered movie Dhoom Dhaam.

During a chat with Bollywood Hungama, Aditya clarified that the story remains the same but has been slightly modified to fit modern times. He explained, “We’ve given it a fresh twist by making it relevant to today’s era.

The movie’s creator disclosed an intriguing tidbit about Dhoom Dhaam. It was mentioned that Sima Taparia from Indian Matchmaking had filmed a segment for the movie. This scene was initially meant to open the film and featured Sima arranging the match between Yami Gautam and Pratik Gandhi’s characters. However, Aditya explained that this particular scene ultimately got removed from the final cut of the film.

On Valentine’s Day 2025, Dhoom Dhaam premiered on Netflix. The plot overview on the streaming service described it as such: “An unusual pair finds themselves embroiled in a wild chase on their wedding night, evading both crooks and police as they hunt for the enigmatic figure known as ‘Charlie’.

In addition to Yami Gautam as Koyal and Pratik Gandhi as Veer, the film features Eijaz Khan, Kavin Dave, Mukul Chadda, Prateik Babbar, Pavitra Sarkar, Garima Yajnik, and Mushtaq Khan. The script was penned by Aditya Dhar and Aarsh Vora, with Rishab Seth helming the director’s chair. Jyoti Deshpande, Aditya Dhar, and Lokesh Dhar are the producers of this production.

Currently, Fawad Khan is preparing for his return to Bollywood with the movie “Abir Gulaal,” a romantic comedy set to be released soon. This film marks his comeback following his last Hindi film, “Ae Dil Hai Mushkil,” which premiered in 2016. In this upcoming project, Fawad Khan will share the screen with Vaani Kapoor.
