Disney and Lucasfilm "Exploring" New Storylines for Possible 'Obi-Wan Kenobi' Season 2

As a lifelong Star Wars enthusiast who has witnessed the saga unfold from the original trilogy to the prequels and beyond, the prospect of another Obi-Wan Kenobi series fills me with unbridled excitement! Ewan McGregor’s portrayal of the Jedi Master is nothing short of iconic, and his eagerness to don the armor once more has my Force-sensitive heart racing.

Currently, Disney and Lucasfilm are working on brainstorming potential plotlines for another installment of the “Star Wars: Obi-Wan Kenobi” series.

Ewan McGregor, known for his portrayal of Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi in the prequel movies and the Disney+ series, recently hinted at potential future stories during his LA Comic-Con appearance. He expressed to the audience, as reported by Deadline, that both companies are considering fresh ideas to revive the show. Speaking about the gap between the end of Obi-Wan Kenobi’s story in the series and Alec Guinness’ portrayal, he suggested that there could be more tales yet to unfold, stating, “Obviously, there must be a few more stories left between the end of the Obi-Wan Kenobi series and when Alec Guinness is Obi-Wan Kenobi.” Additionally, he expressed his interest in exploring “a couple of things” within the Star Wars universe, specifically mentioning the desire to don armor again.

In their conversation, the actor added that the hardest aspect of developing the series for him was the de-aging technique, yet he’s ready to endure it since it offers a chance to work with actor Hayden Christensen once more. Christensen is known for playing Anakin Skywalker in the prequel films and the series.

As a die-hard fan, I’ve been eagerly waiting for news about another season featuring McGregor and Christensen. It seems like the executives at Lucasfilm share my enthusiasm, as Kathleen Kennedy, their president, hinted that they would be open to the idea if the storyline and audience demand are compelling enough for a second season in 2022.
